I found this very interesting:

I used my Abbot from Afar story, and got Mario Puzo.

Analyzed my two pieces from the tavern.
Of Sholo and Svirfnebli returned this Neil Gaiman fellow.
Tale of the Grimy Mariner gave me James Joyce. Well, at least I've heard of Joyce. :)

Google is my friend. I had not heard of him, but he wrote Coraline. And there are little stop-motion Scotties in the film! (I have it on DVD, thanks to my sister & niece.)

I wonder how many authors they have in their database. I entered The Quest for the Perfect Blade, and got James Joyce. :?

Well to be fair, there is no computer algorithm that can truly assess something like a writer's voice.

interesting, Neil Gaimon wrote a book I read years ago called American Gods. I recommend it :)

With a lack of anything I've written myself on this hard drive I just started typing whatever came to mind and periodically pressing analyze. The results were amusing, always a different writer. I then had the idea of pasting passages from works written by some of the authors it compared me to in order to see who it compared them to. Vonnegut got Poe, Poe got Kipling, Kipling got Tolstoy etc. Given how quickly it seems able to analyze this stuff and the seemingly random names popping out I'm wondering if it isn't exactly that, random ;)

Regardless, I just spent the last hour having a great time with it ^^

I believe that this database is searching for keywords. Somebody used verily in a sentence, and were compared to Shakespeare. Somebody else used the word vampire, and were compared to Stephenie Meyer.

It is still interesting. :)
