Another player and I have been trying to do the quest with the word of power for Galdor but the shining lizard seems to be MIA, looked all over Benzor and haven't found him.

That usually means he's off on other pressing business, like handing out golden wing pendants.

I guess he is just off on a quest and will return after reset, have multiple toons needing to talk to him is all.

Well I checked a couple tiems in the first 2 hours it was still down just went back the next day lol
